For brows, the majority of clients feel the pain in similar to threading or plucking. The results outweigh any discomfort felt during the treatment. Depending on skin type there is usually minimal to no bleeding during the treatment.
I do not advise pre-numbing the area as I feel it affects the healed results. Please do not use numbing before your appointment.
For eyes and lips most people describe the feeling as a slight scratching sensation, again minimal to no pain.
All treatments generally last between 1-3 years, most people have a colour boost every 12-18 months to keep the colour fresh. How long it lasts mainly depends on skin type, oiler skins do not hold on to the pigment as well as drier skin types. Sun exposure is also a large factor into the longevity of the results, SPF should be applied to your brows to avoid premature fading.
Please refer to the style chart for more detailed advise.
MICROBLADING
Fine, crisp, individual hair strokes to replicate hairs.
Better suited for normal to drier skin types.
MICROBLADING AND SHADING
Fine, individual hair strokes with a layer of shaded colour to add depth. The shading can also be used to add additional colour in areas with significant patches.
Better suited for normal to drier skin types, however, can be done on slightly oilier skin types.
OMBRE BROWS
Can be used in a variety of ways to suit the desired outcome. Soft ombre for a barely there look, mid ombre for a soft tinted look, or extreme ombre/ powder for more of a makeup look. Ombre brows are always recommended for darker skin types
Ombre brows are suitable for any skin type.
COMBRÉ BROWS
A mixture of microblading and ombre brows. Hair strokes at the front of the brow that blends into shading. This style gives the appearance of a fluffy front but with a defined arch and tail.
Combré brows are suitable for normal to drier skin types, due to the microblading.
FUSION BROWS
Shaded hair like strokes, this method gives a fluffy, defused, natural look.
Suitable for any skin type.
Please note, it is perfectly fine to decide what brow style you would like on the day of the appointment.
Yes. To begin with the design will be drawn on based on your natural bone structure, I will then show you and we can make any adjustments needed.
The shaping is always the longest part of the appointment. This is to ensure the best symmetry possible can be achieved and I will NOT start the procedure until you confirm you are 100% happy with the design.
Please note, most faces are not perfectly symmetrical, it is very common to have one eye slightly bigger, one eye slightly heavier, uneven bone structure or for people to have string mimic muscles and raise one brow significantly higher. All of this will be pointed out and taken into consideration when shaping the brows.
Please have a look through the gallery of images, as you will see I do not do ‘tadpole’ shaped brows, so those with round fronts and thin tales. If this is the shape of brow you were hoping for, then unfortunately I will not be the correct artist for you.
Yes, having little/no natural brow hair is very common and is not a problem at all. I do usually advise to have some shading added to help give a little more depth, however this can be discussed on the day and depends on what you wish to achieve.
No, I shape the eyebrows on the day so please grow your brows out as much as possible as I will remove any surrounding hairs. Please avoid tinting, waxing, plucking or threading 2 weeks prior to your appointment, this is to avoid any skin sensitivity, and also to ensure we can correctly choose the suitable pigment colour for you.
No, the area of treatment MAY be slightly red for up to 3 days, however this is rare and mainly occurs for those with very sensitive skin types. The aftercare I advise is to reduce scabbing, therefore you should not feel drastically conscious.
*Aftercare is tailored to skin type, however generally the is to be no sun for around 2 weeks.
*No water, sweat or steam for 2 weeks.
If you exercise and sweat regularly, please bare this in mind before booking an appointment as you are responsible for your healed results from the moment you leave the clinic. I can always tell when the aftercare has not been followed correctly.
*Do not use sunbeds, expose yourself to direct sunlight or have any form of sunburn at least 2 weeks prior to treatment
*Avoid the following 48-72 hours before your appointment:
- Alcohol
- Caffeine (including energy drinks)
- Ibuprofen and/or Aspirin
- Blood thinners (this should have already been discussed prior to booking)
- Omega 3 or Vitamin E Supplements
*For Eyeliner or lash line enhancements all lash extensions should be removed 2 weeks prior to your appointment
*For lips, please allow 4 weeks between appointments from having any dermal fillers
*Under 18’s
*Anyone taking blood thinning medication MUST have a written doctor’s consent. You must also take into consideration, the thinner the blood the more pigment can be pushed back out of the skin during the treatment which can lead to patchier results, possibly needing an additional session (third touch up) at an additional cost.
*Certain medications affecting hormones (not the contraceptive pill) can impact the healed results, again increasing the possibility of needing an additional session.
*If you suffer from keloid scarring
*Any skin conditions in the area of treatment, for example psoriasis in the brow area if your chosen treatment is brows, or cold sores in the lip area if your chosen treatment is lips. If you do suffer from cold sores and are wanting any type of lip treatment, it is advised that you take anti-viral medication prescribed from your doctor 1 week prior, and 1-week post treatment.
*If you are pregnant/breastfeeding, ideally you will have at least had your first period before having the treatment so we can be sure your hormone levels are more stable in order to gain the best healed result.
*If you are Haemophiliac
*If you have any sunny holidays planned 2 weeks prior or post appointment
*Cancer patients please allow 6 months after chemotherapy and radiotherapy so we can be assured your immune system is strong enough to avoid the risk of infection.
*If you have a previous eyebrow tattoo of any kind pictures will need to be sent prior to booking to ensure they can be covered appropriately. Ombre brows are usually the most effective method in the case of corrections, this is to ensure the previous work can be covered appropriately.
Microblading alone will not be suitable for corrections unless there is practically NO pigment left, this is because any previous work will show through in between the fine individual strokes that microblading produces.
If I feel the brows are too saturated, meaning too much colour beneath the skin, I will advise saline removal in order to lighten the area, before any treatment can be done.
Please understand this is to ensure you have the best possible results and I will simply not work over something if I feel you or I will be unhappy with the end result.
Under no circumstances will any existing work done by another artist be “topped up”, annual colour boost prices are strictly for existing clients only.
If you already have existing work, you would need to send over pictures BEFORE booking in. Pictures should be taken using the back camera on your phone (they need to be clear), the flash should be used, or the pictures should be taken in natural lighting. Please send 3 pictures, one of each side close up, and one forward facing.
It depends on how saturated the brows are (how much colour is beneath the skin), as to if they can be worked over. It also depends on if there is any damage to the skin where the previous work was done as this is very common.
If the work is extremely faded, practically none existent, with no damage to the skin, the area can be worked over with microblading. If there is still a small amount of colour remaining, and the shape is ok, then ombre brows would be an option.
Again, if the shape is ok, but the existing work is red, blue, green, grey etc, this can be easily colour corrected with ombre brows.
It is important to understand that results can never be guaranteed with corrections, all of the above are varying factors that determine the outcome.
*Anyone, not only those with non-existent brows, but also those with full brows that simply want more definition.
*Those who have lost their lip line definition due to fillers or age
*Those with very fair or sparse lashes
Please allow up to 3 hours for the appointment.
All consultations are carried out at the start of the treatment, with medical information being checked prior to booking. You will be sent pre-procedure information advising what to avoid before your treatment, along with a patch test.
Before picture’s will be taken. The design will then be drawn on in your chosen area of treatment, this can take up to 2 hours depending on your natural symmetry, bone structure, facial muscles etc. This will be discussed in detail as the design varies massively from person to person.
For all treatments, a design will be drawn on. If your chosen treatment is brows, a box is drawn on and it can often appear slightly thicker than the desired outcome, however I always work INSIDE of the box. Please look through the gallery as I include pictures of this to help put your mind at rest.
Whilst we can go slightly thicker at your touch-up appointment, it will never look as immaculate as if the desired thickness is achieved during the first session. Please try and trust the process.
A full individual colour analysis will take place to determine to most suitable colour specifically tailored to you. Hair colour, eye colour and skin undertone will all be considered to determine this.
Consent forms will be signed, and photographs will be taken of the design. The treatment will NEVER be carried out without your full approval of colour, shape and style.
The actual treatment only takes 30-60 minuets depending on skin type/sensitivity.
At the end of your treatment you will be shown your brows, you will be asked if you wish to add anything. If you are particularly nervous, I am happy to show you the results just after the outline has been wiped away in order to put your mind at rest.
Whilst it is understandable to feel slightly anxious about your treatment, if you are overly nervous, I will not be happy to carry out the treatment. It is your responsibility to ensure you are ready to have the treatment done so please ensure you are 100% confident in both the treatment, and myself as an artist.
For all treatments, a design will be drawn on. If your treatment is brows, the box drawn on can often appear thicker than the desired outcome, however I always work INSIDE of the box. Please look through the gallery as I always include pictures of this to help put your mind at rest.
Whilst we can go slightly thicker at your touch up, it will not look as immaculate and clean as if the desired result is achieved during the first session. Please try and relax and trust what is being advised to you in order to help you achieve the best possible results.
You will be given an informal aftercare pack specific to your treatment and skin type in order to help you gain optimum healed results.
You will then need to book in for your touch-up appointment using the online booking system. The touch-up can be anywhere between 4-12 weeks, not 1 day before or 1 day after this time frame. The touch up usually takes a maximum of 1 hour and the time is used to fill in any patches, assess colour and make any minor changes to shape if necessary. Please note that patches are completely normal after 1 session, this is why a touch-up is needed.
